String Bean And Tater Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    approximately 2 lb. ground beef, stew meat or bacon
    3 whole onions
    8 to 10 potatoes
    4 to 6 c. string beans
    salt, pepper, basil, and garlic (if you like)
Preparation
    Brown meat in kettle 3/4 full of water.
    Add onions.
    Add potatoes and string beans.
    Amount is flexible, determined by how far you want the soup to stretch.
    Add spices if you like.
    Bring to boil.
    Cook until potatoes are tender.
