Christmas Wassail - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. apple juice or cider
    1 pt. cranberry juice
    3/4 c. sugar
    2 sticks cinnamon, broken up
    1 tsp. whole allspice
    1 1/2 tsp. whole cloves
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients in a crock-pot or slow cooker.
    If desired, tie whole spices in cheesecloth or place in a tea strainer.
    Cover and set on high for 1 hour, then on low for 4 to 8 hours.
    Serve warm.
    To spike, add 1 cup rum.
    Makes 12 cups.
