Orange Slice Candy Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. soda, dissolved in 2/3 c. buttermilk
    3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    2 c. chopped nuts
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. chopped dates
    1 lb. orange candy slices, chopped
    1 (8 oz.) carton candied cherries, cut in half
    1 small can flaked coconut
Preparation
    Cream the butter and sugar together; add eggs, soda and buttermilk mixture.
    Mix remaining ingredients with flour and add to creamed mixture.
    Stir well.
    Pour mixture into a tube pan. Bake at 275\u00b0 for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
