Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 cucumbers (16 c., 4 qt.), sliced
    6 medium onions, sliced
    2 green peppers, chopped
    3 cloves garlic
    1/3 c. salt
    4 c. sugar or 2 c. light corn syrup and 3 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    3 c. vinegar (white)
Preparation
    Slice cucumbers thin.
    Add sliced onions, peppers, garlic and salt.
    Cover with ice and mix thoroughly.
    Let stand 3 hours, then drain.
    Combine remaining ingredients with 1 cup water.
    Pour over cucumber mixture.
    Heat to boiling.
    Seal in hot, sterilized jars to top (don't leave space).
    Put into water bath 10 minutes and remove.
