Fudge Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c butter or margarine
    2 squares unsweet chocolate
    1/8 tsp salt
    1 1/2 c sugar
    1 c less 2 tbsp evaporated milk
    1 tsp vanilla
Preparation
    Heat butter and chocolate in top of double boiler until melted. Stir in salt, then sugar in 4 or 5 portions being sure to blend in sugar thoroughly after each portion. The mixture becomes very thick, dry and grainy. Stir in milk very slowly. Cook 5-6 minutes longer or until slightly thickened, stirring frequently. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla.
