My Favorite Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients

soft margarine or butter
6 slices bread (white)
4 eggs
1 c. sugar, divided
1 tsp. vanilla extract
dash of salt
3 c. milk
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg (optional)
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese

Preparation

Butter bread and cut in 1-inch squares.
Place in lightly greased 7 1/2 x 11 3/4-inch baking pan.
