Nana'S German Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. boiling water
    1 pkg. German chocolate
    3/4 c. butter or margarine
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    4 egg yolks
    2 3/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    4 egg whites
Preparation
    Melt chocolate in boiling water; set aside and cool.
    Cream butter and sugar until creamy.
    Add egg yolks one at a time; beat well after each.
    Sift soda, salt and flour (do not use salt if using self-rising flour) together.
    Beat in chocolate, then add flour mixture alternately with buttermilk; beat until smooth.
    Add vanilla and fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until done.
