Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1 c. peanut butter
1 c. brown sugar
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Cream butter, shortening, peanut butter and sugars until very creamy.
Add eggs and beat until combined and smooth.
Sift together the dry ingredients.
Mix on low speed just until combined.
Chill dough until firm about 2 hours.
Roll by rounded teaspoons into a ball.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Flatten with fork in a crisscross pattern dipped in flour so it doesn't stick.
Bake at 375\u00b0 until set but not hard, 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 5 to 6 dozen.
