Ingredients

1 c. strained fresh persimmons (2 or 3 large, ripe)
1 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. butter, melted
1 egg, well beaten
1 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. soda, dissolved in 1/2 c. milk
whipped cream
Preparation

Mix ingredients in order given.
Grease one pound coffee can well; fill 2/3 full.
Cover tightly with aluminum foil.
Tie with string.
Steam at least 2 1/2 hours.
Take out of water and cool. Serve with whipped cream.
