Coconut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. Crisco or 1/2 c. butter and 1/2 c. Crisco
    5 eggs
    1 tsp. coconut extract
    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 1/2 c. flaked coconut
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 tsp. coconut extract
Preparation
    Boil sugar and water for 1 minute; add flavoring.
    Pour over cake while still in pan.
    Let stand for 1/2 hour (sprinkle a little powdered sugar on top to keep it from sticking to plate).
    Turn out on plate and immediately turn back on another plate so it will cool right side up.
