Breakfast Sausage Casserole - cooking recipe

6 slices of white bread
margarine
1 lb. ground pork sausage
1 1/2 c. shredded cheese
6 large eggs, lightly beaten
2 c. half and half
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Trim crust from bread slices, spread margarine over one side of bread. Place bread slices, buttered side up in bottom of a lightly greased 13 x 9 pan. Set aside. Brown sausage in large skillet, stirring until it crumbles. Drain. Spoon sausage over bread. Sprinkle with cheese. Combine eggs, half and half, and salt. Pour over cheese. Cover and chill 8 hours or overnight. Remove from refrigerator, let stand covered for 15 minutes. Uncover and bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until golden brown. Yields 8 servings.
