Waldorf Red Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 Tbsp. red food color
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. salt
    2 1/4 c. cake flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vinegar
    2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream shortening, sugar and eggs until very fluffy.
    Make paste of cocoa and red color and add to creamed mixture.
    Sift flour and salt together and add alternately with buttermilk.
    Mix soda and vinegar and add with the vanilla.
    Pour into a greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan or 2 (9-inch) round layer pans.
    Bake approximately 30 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven.
