Homemade Applesauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

tart cooking apples (figure 1 apple per serving)
water
sugar (to taste)
lemon juice (if apples aren't tart enough)
Preparation

Choose the tartest apples in season.
Wash and section, leaving stems and core in for flavor.
Cook in a heavy saucepan with a little water in bottom until mushy.
Run apples through colander.
Add sugar to taste and lemon juice if needed for tartness.
Great fun with younger children and delicious as well.
