Toffee Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg, separated (white for top)
1/2 c. finely chopped nuts
Preparation

In a large bowl measure sugar and butter; mix until soft.
Add all other ingredients including egg yolk only.
Pat evenly in a 5 x 11-inch pan.
In a cup with fork, beat egg white slightly. Brush over top of dough and sprinkle with nuts.
Pat down lightly. Bake at 300\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
