Banana-Nut Bread(Twix Cake And Bread) - cooking recipe

1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. soft butter or margarine
1 c. (3 to 4) mashed bananas
1/2 c. buttermilk or 1 1/2 tsp. vinegar with enough milk to make 1/2 c. liquid
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 c. chopped nuts
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 eggs
Preparation

Cream sugar, salt and butter thoroughly in mixing bowl.
Beat eggs into mixture, one at a time, until light and fluffy.
Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and nutmeg.
Combine bananas and milk.
Add parts of dry and liquid ingredients alternately to creamed ingredients, blending well after each addition.
Add nuts; mix briefly.
Turn into 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 60 to 70 minutes.
Turn out on cooling rack; wrap in plastic or foil when cool.
