Sweet And Sour Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. water
    1/4 c. vinegar
    3 Tbsp. soy sauce
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 (16 oz.) can chunk pineapple, drained (keep syrup)
    2 medium tomatoes, cut in wedges
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    leftover meat (any kind), cut into 1/2-inch strips
    1 medium onion, sliced and separated in rings
    1 large green pepper, cut in 1/2-inch pieces
Preparation
    In a large skillet, combine pineapple syrup, water, vinegar, soy sauce, cornstarch, brown sugar and salt; mix until smooth. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
    Reduce heat and simmer until clear and thickened.
    Add meat strips and remaining ingredients.
    Cook 5 minutes until thoroughly heated.
    Serve over hot cooked rice.
