Ingredients

2 (16 oz.) cans sliced beets
1 c. beet liquid
1 c. sugar
1 c. vinegar
1/2 tsp. powdered cloves
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
6 thin slices onion
Preparation

Make a syrup of 1 cup liquid drained from beets, sugar, vinegar and spices.
When it comes to boil, add sliced, drained beets and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
