Uncle George'S Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 lb. peeled and chopped potatoes
    1 medium chopped onion
    4 oz. diced salt pork
    1 (1/4 lb.) stick butter
    1 tsp. pepper
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 tsp. parsley flakes
    1/4 tsp. oregano
    approximately 1 1/2 gal. water
    1 Tbsp. milk
Preparation
    Wash clams thoroughly in fresh water to remove sand.
    Just cover clams with water.
    Steam clams until they open (15 minutes). Remove clams from shells.
    Chop clams.
    Set aside clams.
    Saute onions and salt pork with butter in pan.
    Add all ingredients except clams to clam water used for steaming.
    Add more water if necessary, slow boil 8 to 10 minutes then add clams.
    Cook 2 to 5 minutes.
    Makes 6 to 12 servings.
