Divinity - cooking recipe

Ingredients

4 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 c. syrup (white corn syrup)
4 egg whites
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1 tsp. powdered sugar
1 c. nuts (walnuts, pecans or almonds, if desired)

Preparation

Boil sugar, water and white corn syrup until hard boil stage. Pour hot mixture into stiffly beaten egg whites; continue beating on high speed of mixer.
Add vanilla and powdered sugar.
Beat until mixture loses its gloss.
Add nuts, if desired.
Pour onto marble.
Cool.
Store in airtight container.
