Old-Fashioned Buttermilk Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. shortening
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. lukewarm water
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 egg
    3 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in water.
    Heat buttermilk to lukewarm.
    Add salt, shortening and sugar.
    Then put soda in buttermilk.
    Add yeast, egg and 1 cup of flour.
    Let rise until doubled in size about 1 hour, covered.
    Punch down and let rise again about 1 hour in muffin tins.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes.
