Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (3 to 5 lb.) chicken
    4 c. flour
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 tsp. salt
    water
Preparation
    Boil chicken in enough water to cover chicken completely until chicken is done. Remove chicken from broth and cool. Mix flour and salt. Cut in shortening. Add enough water to make a good dough. Roll out on floured dough board to 1/8-inch thickness. Cut in 1-inch squares. Drop squares one at a time into boiling broth and cook until dough is done. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
