Cabbage Casserole - cooking recipe

1/2 lb. ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
medium head cabbage, chopped
1/4 c. margarine
1/4 c. flour
2 c. milk
3/4 c. Jack cheese, shredded
1/2 c. bread crumbs
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Butter a casserole dish.
Fry together ground beef, onion and pepper.
In a small amount of water, cook cabbage until tender.
Layer meat mixture and cabbage in casserole.
Melt butter; stir in flour; cook 2 or 3 minutes.
Stir in milk and cook, stirring constantly until sauce is smooth and thick.
Add Jack cheese and pour over casserole.
Sprinkle with crumbs.
Bake 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
