Candied Yams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 lb. medium size sweet potatoes (preferred red meated)
    2 c. white sugar
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. water
    1 stick margarine
    1 tsp. vanilla or lemon flavoring
Preparation
    Boil potatoes long enough to peel jackets off of them. Cut in quarters. Lay in flat casserole baking dish. Make syrup (boil 3 or 4 minutes, take off heat and add butter and flavoring). Pour over potato quarters. Cook in 350\u00b0 oven 45 minutes.
