Lime Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. lime
    2 gal. water
    14 c. sliced cucumbers, sliced not too thin
    2 qt. vinegar
    1 tsp. mixed spices
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. salt
    9 c. sugar
    green food coloring
Preparation
    Soak cucumbers 24 hours in lime water.\tWash once.
    Let stand 3 hours in cold water. Place cucumbers in mixture of remaining ingredients and let stand 12 hours or overnight.
    Heat 35 minutes in syrup.
    Place in jars and seal. DO NOT BOIL!
