Svenska Pepparkakor(Swedish Gingerbread Christmas Cookies) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1.5 kg. plain flour
    1 tsp. bicarbonate (baking soda)
    1/2 kg. butter
    30 ml. syrup
    1 egg
    30 ml. whipped cream
    60 ml. sugar
    2 to 3 tsp. cinnamon
    2 to 3 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Whip butter, sugar and syrup together.
    Add the rest of the ingredients and mix into a nice dough.
    Let it rest in the refrigerator until the next day.
    Roll out the dough thin (3 mm) and cut out hearts, animals, etc. and set on a buttered surface. Place on baking sheets and bake at 175\u00b0C for 7 to 10 minutes, or until they have a nice brown color.
    You can decorate with sugar icing if desired.
