Four Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. pinto beans
    1/2 c. navy beans
    1/4 c. split peas
    1/4 c. lentils
    1 small onion, chopped
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    1/2 tsp. summer savory
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 Tbsp. parsley, dried
    1/2 Tbsp. chives, dried
    1 tsp. baking soda
    2 c. blended tomatoes
Preparation
    Place all ingredients, except tomatoes, in a large pot.
    Add 5 cups water.
    Bring to a boil, and then lower the heat to a simmer. Cook until beans are soft.
    Add tomatoes and more water to desired consistency.
    Salt to taste.
