My Grandmother'S Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. milk
    2 c. sugar
    18 Tbsp. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    12 eggs
    4 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Put dry ingredients in pan.
    Beat eggs separately.
    Add to dry ingredients.
    Add milk, stirring in a little at a time to avoid lumps.
    Set pan in boiling water (double boiler).
    Stir until it thickens.
    Test on a wooden spoon.
    Coats spoon when done.
    Use a drop of yellow food coloring to add color and add vanilla.
    Do not let it curd, but cook until it coats wooden spoon.
