Colonial Apple Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. soda
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. grated lemon peel
1 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. Crisco oil
1/4 c. milk
2 c. peeled, chopped apples
Preparation

Mix all dry ingredients together in bowl; set aside.
Cream the sugar, Crisco, oil and eggs.
Add dry ingredients alternately with milk.
Beat after each addition.
Stir in apples, lemon juice and vanilla; blend well.
Pour in 10-inch tube pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
Cool slightly and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
