Rot Kraut(Red Cabbage) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 onion, chopped
2 Tbsp. oil or margarine
2 lb. red cabbage, shredded fine
1 c. water
2 to 3 sour apples, peeled and diced
1 to 2 bay leaves
3 to 5 whole cloves
2 Tbsp. sugar to taste
2 Tbsp. wine vinegar to taste
salt and pepper to taste
Preparation

Brown onion in oil.
Add shredded cabbage to wilt.
Add 1 cup water and all other ingredients.
Cover and cook on low heat 70 to 90 minutes.
Add sugar and wine vinegar before serving.
