Ellie'S Buttermilk Yeast Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 dry yeast
    1/4 c. warm water
    2 c. buttermilk
    4 Tbsp. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. soda
    4 Tbsp. melted shortening or oil
    5 c. flour
Preparation
    Scald buttermilk; let cool.
    Add sugar, salt and shortening. Add soda and yeast water (dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water). Add 1/2 cup flour to this mixture and beat well.
    Add remaining flour and mix.
    Let rise 90 minutes.
