Okra Pilau - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 to 4 bacon slices, chopped
1 lb. okra, cut in small rounds
1 1/2 c. water
1 c. long grain rice
salt and pepper to taste
Preparation

Fry bacon until almost crisp in saucepan.
Add okra; fry until tender.
Add water, rice, salt and pepper.
Cover, turn heat very low.
Cook, stirring several times, for 1 hour or until rice is dry.
Yield: 4 to 6 servings.
