Biscuits Supreme - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 tsp. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    2/3 c. milk
Preparation
    Sift flour, baking powder, salt, cream of tartar, and sugar into bowl.
    Cut in shortening till mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    Make a well; add milk all at once.
    Stir quickly with fork just till dough follows fork around bowl.
    Turn onto lightly floured surface.
    (Dough should be soft.)
    Knead lightly 10 to 12 strokes.
    Roll or pat dough 1/2-inch thick.
    Dip cutter in flour; cut dough straight down--no twisting.
    Baking on ungreased baking sheet in 450\u00b0 oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
    Makes 16 medium biscuits.
