Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. quick cooking oatmeal
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Pour boiling water over oatmeal and let stand 20 minutes. Cream shortening with
sugars.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Sift together dry ingredients.
Add to creamed mixture alternately with oatmeal mixture.
Pour in a 9 x 12-inch loaf cake pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
