Chocolate Caramel Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
    3/4 c. margarine, melted
    1/3 c. Carnation milk
    6 to 12 oz. chocolate chips
    crushed nuts
    1 bag caramels
    1/3 c. Carnation milk
Preparation
    Mix dry cake mix with margarine and canned milk.
    Pour 1/2 of mixture into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 6 minutes.
    Melt caramels and milk together; pour over baked layer.
    Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts; top with remaining batter.
    (Add a little hot water if too thick.) Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
