Phyllis' Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. cooking oil
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. flour
2 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1 oz. red food coloring
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda
Preparation

Combine oil and sugar, beating thoroughly.
Add eggs and beat well (use your mixer).
Alternately add flour and buttermilk. Make paste of cocoa and food coloring.
Add to first mixture.
Add salt, vanilla and soda.
Beat well.
Bake at 350\u00b0
for 25 minutes in 3 (8-inch) cake pans or square 9 x 13-inch pan.
Grease and flour pan.
Cool and then frost.
