Earthquake Cake - cooking recipe

1 cup pecans, chopped
1 cup coconut
1 box German chocolate cake mix
1 pkg (8 oz) cream cheese
1/2 cup margarine
1 lb confectioner's sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Preparation

grease bottom only of 9x13-inch pan.
Preheat oven to 350\u00b0. Mix pecans and coconut and spread evenly in bottom of pan.
Prepare cake mix as directed on box and pour over coconut and pecans.
Mix together the remaining ingredients and spoon over cake batter. Bake 45 to 50 minutes.
During baking, it cracks on the top resembling the aftermath of an earthquake.
