Ingredients

1/2 c. dried cherries, chopped
4 tsp. rum
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
zest of half orange
3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. oats
Preparation

Oven at 350\u00b0.
Sprinkle cherries with rum.
Cream butter with sugar.
Beat in egg and zest.
Combine dry ingredients and stir into butter mixture.
Stir in oats and cherries.
Place spoonfuls of dough 1 1/2-inches apart on greased baking sheets.
Bake until golden brown, 8 to 10 minutes.
Cool completely before removing from sheets.
