Aros Caldo - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 to 4 cloves garlic, minced
    1 onion, chopped
    1-inch ginger root, sliced
    chicken pieces
    2 c. rice
    12 c. water
    4 Tbsp. patis (fish sauce)
    green onions for garnish
Preparation
    In a large pot or wok, saute garlic, onions and ginger root. Brown chicken (skin removed, if desired).
    Add rice and 12 cups water.
    Season with patis or fish sauce.
    Cook until rice is done; it will be soupy.
