Chili Con Queso - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. chopped onions
1 Tbsp. shortening
1 1/2 c. ripe or well drained canned tomatoes
1 lb. American cheese, grated
4 to 5 oz. canned green chilies, chopped
1 Tbsp. salt
1 Tbsp. pepper
Preparation
-
Saute onions in shortening until transparent.
Add tomatoes, chilies, salt and pepper to onions.
Simmer slowly until well blended.
Add cheese to hot sauce.
Blend.
Thin with tomato juice if too thick.
Serve as dip for corn tostados.
