Chow-Chow - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 qt. ground green tomatoes
    1 qt. onions
    1 1/2 pt. sugar
    allspice to taste (I use 1 1/4 tsp.)
    2 small cabbages
    6 green peppers
    1 tsp. powdered mustard
    1 pt. vinegar
Preparation
    Grind tomatoes.
    Put 1 cup of salt over them and let stand 2 hours.
    Squeeze out and mix with other ingredients which have also been ground up.
    Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
    Put in jars and seal.
