Blackwood Hall Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 egg
    1/2 can milk
    1 c. fresh blueberries
Preparation
    Heat the oven to 400\u00b0.
    Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt into a mixing bowl. Add the shortening, egg and milk.
    Stir with a fork until blended.
    Rinse blueberries and drain them on paper towels.
    Stir them into the dough until thoroughly mixed. Grease the bottom and sides of the muffin cups and fill 2/3 full with dough. Bake for 20 minutes.
    Muffins will be golden brown when done.
    Makes 12 muffins.
