Flakey Pie Crust - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. shortening
    5 to 6 Tbsp. cold water
Preparation
    Sift flour with salt; cut in shortening until mixture resembles fine meal.
    Sprinkle with water, a tablespoon at a time, mixing lightly with fork until all of the flour is moistened. Form dough into ball; divide in half.
    Roll each to 1/8-inch thickness on lightly floured board; fit pastry loosely into pie plates. Prick bottom and sides with fork.
    Trim and flute edges. Bake in preheated hot oven at 400\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
    Makes 2 (8 or 9-inch) crusts.
