Texas Pecan Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. butter or margarine
    2 c. sugar
    6 eggs, beaten
    1 Tbsp. lemon extract
    4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    4 c. pecan halves
    2 c. white raisins
Preparation
    Heat oven to 300\u00b0 (low).
    Grease and flour a 9 3/4-inch tube pan.
    Blend butter and sugar in a large bowl; beat until mixture is light and fluffy.
    Gradually add eggs and lemon extract.
    Beat until well blended.
    Sift flour and baking powder together 3 times.
    Add nuts and raisins to flour.
    Gradually add flour mixture to creamed mixture; blend thoroughly.
    Pour into prepared pan.
    Bake 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
    Cool 15 minutes.
    Remove from pan. Serve when completely cool.
