Mama'S Quick Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. vegetable oil
    1 lb. beef stew meat
    1 onion (white)
    1 can tomato sauce (small)
    1 tsp. salt
    1 lb. cut carrots
    1 box frozen peas
    cayenne pepper
    4 potatoes (optional)
Preparation
    Heat pot on medium 3 to 5 minutes.
    Add oil.
    Brown meat, then add sliced onion.
    Turn heat to low.
    Stir in sauce, 1 sauce can water, dash of pepper and salt.
    Cut up carrots and add with peas. Cook 45 minutes, covered.
    Stir occasionally.
    Add potatoes, if desired.
    Cook extra 25 minutes.
