Green Tomato Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. green tomatoes, quartered
    1 qt. onion slices
    1 tsp. cumin seeds
    3 c. vinegar
    1/2 c. salt
    1 c. green peppers, chopped
    2 1/2 c. sugar
Preparation
    Place green tomatoes and onion in large bowl; sprinkle with salt.
    Cover with ice and let stand 2 hours.
    Stir once or twice. Bring vinegar and sugar to a boil, then add vegetables and cook until color changes.
    Then, put in jars and seal.
