Beef Stew - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 - 2 lbs. beef, cut into cubes
1 c. flour
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. olive oil
1 large onion, diced
6 c. water
Worcestershire sauce, to taste
2 bay leaves
1 1/2 tsp. dried basil
6 bouillon cubes (9 is better)
2 c. peeled, cubed potatoes
1 c. sliced carrots
2 stalks celery, sliced
Preparation

Dredge the beef cubes in the flour, with pepper and salt, until well coated.
Heat oil and add coated beef cubes.
Brown meat.
Add water, onion and bouillon.
Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer and cook for 30-45 minutes.
Add other ingredients and cook until carrots and potatoes are tender. Adjust seasoning to taste by adding more Worcestershire sauce, bouillon, salt or pepper.
If the stew seems too runny bring it to a boil, mix a paste of water and flour, add some hot stew liquid and then pour back into the stew stirring constantly until the consistency is acceptable.
