Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sifted cake flour
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. whole unbeaten eggs (4 to 5)
    3/4 c. milk
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients together and add shortening and eggs. Mix for 3 minutes on medium speed.
    Add milk and vanilla.
    Mix for 2 minutes on medium speed.
    Pour batter into 10-inch tube pan, which has been coated with shortening and dusted with flour.
    Bake in moderate oven at 325\u00b0 for 1 1/4 hours (75 minutes) until done. Not necessary to frost.
    May dust with powdered sugar, if desired.
