Barbecue Ribs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 to 4 lb. back loin pork ribs
    1 medium onion, peeled and sliced
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/2 c. finely chopped onion
    1 clove garlic, minced
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
    1 (6 oz.) can mushroom steak sauce
    1/4 c. vinegar
    1/4 c. honey
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. basil
    1 tsp. dry mustard
    1 tsp. chili powder
Preparation
    Put ribs in large shallow pan. Add onions, season with salt and pepper. Bake uncovered at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour. Drain off excess drippings. Saute garlic and onion in butter. Add remaining ingredients. Stir until smooth. Coat ribs with sauce and bake, uncovered, for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours longer, turning and basting every 20 minutes until tender.
