Western Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. flour
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
2 Tbsp. sorghum
1 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Cut shortening into dry ingredients and reserve 1/2 cup crumb mixture.
Add the egg, sorghum, sour milk and soda.
Mix and beat well.
Pour into prepared pan (13 x 9 x 2-inch).
Cut 1 tablespoon of butter into reserved crumb mix and sprinkle over top of batter.
Cook at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
