Baked Alaska - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small sponge cake
    1 pt. ice cream
    3 egg whites, stiffly beaten
    6 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cut cake in half lengthwise.
    Place slice on board. Slice ice cream and place on cake. Cover with slice of cake.
    Cover completely with stiffly beaten egg whites to which sugar and vanilla have been added.
    Bake in
    a 450\u00b0 oven about 4 to 5 minutes. Serve at once.
